We pour the most common alloys that are listed below. We are also capable of pouring other air melt alloys. Specific material chemistry and mechanical specifications will be provided to you if needed.  Siddhalaxmi Engg is your one-stop solution you’re your Stainless Steel Investment Casting requirements.

Tolerances

The industry standard linear tolerances for any investment casting process are ±.005 per inch of length. This standard can be adjusted to meet your specific process capabilities. Siddhalaxmi Engg is prepared to meet your investment casting’s needs, even if the tolerances are very tight (please note that if there are tighter tolerances, it may require special procedures and/or secondary operations that can impact cost and production lead time).

Tolerance Capabilities

Precise replicated parts can be produced by the investment casting process in a truly economical fashion. Effective part configuration is the critical element in achieving strict tolerances for investment casting. Siddhalaxmi’s team of experts be in touch with you at every step of the process – ensuring you of a quality experience that is unparalleled in the investment casting industry.

Geometric Tolerance Capabilities

Flatness

Flatness is measured as the distance between two parallel planes, within which the entire surface of the part must lie. The shape of the part will influence the cooling behaviour of the wax pattern and the part as it solidifies. This tends to determine the process capability, which is frequently expressed in terms of six square inches of surface area.

Wall Thickness

The standard minimum wall thickness for investment casting lies between .040″ and .080″. Wall thickness as low as 0.030″ has been achieved within a small area. Overall wall thickness is dependent on the alloy used and the size of the surface area.

What Dimensional Tolerances Can Be Achieved with Investment Casting?

Size and shape are the main factors in determining geometric and linear tolerances. For projects that require strict tolerances, investment casting is an excellent option as it produces parts with great accuracy and repeatability.

Siddhalaxmi Engg has experience investment casting parts for Automotive and other industries that require a high level of precision and accuracy. We provide investment casting for part sizes up to 450 x 450 x 350 mm and 260lbs. and with the following industry standard dimensional tolerances:

It is important to fully discuss your part size and dimensional requirements with your investment casting company. If you have questions regarding your project, our team of experts can review your print to determine whether your required tolerances can be achieved through investment casting.

Rapid Prototype Castings

Rapid prototype castings are fully functioning parts with the same strength and metallurgical properties as traditionally investment cast parts. However, they carry the added advantage of substituting injected wax patterns with 3-D printed patterns, resulting in a quick and relatively low-cost alternative for those who only need a limited number of parts.

Investment casting using rapid prototypes is a reliable means to quickly produce metal castings while in the preliminary design phases of an investment casting project. This allows you to test out a sample design, which can help avoid expensive tooling changes. Oftentimes, rapid prototype castings are less costly and time-consuming than the process of machining prototypes out of bar stock or producing prototypes through weldments.

Reduce Costs and Lead Time Using Rapid Prototype Investment Casting

At Siddhalaxmi Engg Company, we can supply aerospace grade rapid prototype castings from a CAD file (. STEP .X_T .STL or other files after translation) in as little as 5-6 weeks. We have produced hundreds of different prototype castings in a wide variety of designs, ranging from 1-piece prototypes to production various parts.

All rapid prototype castings from Siddhalaxmi Engg are produced using the same casting materials as our investment castings. We have experience producing rapid prototypes using a range of 3-D printed materials, enabling us to offer your project a variety of cost and quality options.

Some of the processes we use to produce rapid prototype castings include:

  • CastForm Polystyrene (PS)
  • Stereolithography Apparatus (SLA)
  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
  • Thermojet Wax
