Aluminum Alloy Casting
High levels of aluminium are present in alloys made of copper, magnesium, silicon, tin, manganese, or zinc. They are the alloy of choice for many aircraft applications because they are corrosion-resistant and lightweight. Depending on the alloy, strengthening can be achieved either through heat treatment or cold working.
Precision Investment Casting for Aluminium Alloys
Aluminum alloy casting is offered by Siddhalaxmi Engg for small- and large-scale manufacturing runs. We have experience pouring a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous air-melt alloys and closely regulate our metal inventory using a master heat system. We also provide heat treatment, non-destructive testing, and other services for precision investment casting applications needing additional finishing.
Complex castings for demanding applications are our area of expertise. Our significant casting history, which spans more than 50 years, has allowed us to successfully cast thin-walled and multi-cored aluminium projects for a variety of aerospace customers. To discuss your investment casting project or for help choosing the right alloy for your purpose, get in touch with us.
Aluminium Alloy Casting Materials
Many different components, including those for aeroplanes and engines, including fittings, housings, levers, valves, impellers, and more, are investment cast utilising aluminium alloys. Our choices for casting materials made of aluminium alloy include:
- A-356 Casting Alloy: It contains iron, zinc, magnesium, silicon, and. It offers superior corrosion resistance, high weldability, and the ability to be heat treated to increase strength.
- A-357 Casting Alloy: It contains silicon, beryllium, iron, copper, magnesium, titanium, zinc, and manganese, among other elements. It has a high strength to weight ratio, is resistant to corrosion, and can undergo heat treatment to increase its strength.
- C-355 Casting Alloy: Iron, manganese, magnesium, zinc, titanium, iron, and copper are all present. Both its weldability and corrosion resistance are excellent.
- F-357 Casting Alloy: It contains silicon, iron, copper, magnesium, titanium, zinc, and manganese among other elements. It offers great strength and can be heat treated to enhance the properties of strength.

Is Investment Casting the Right Choice for My Project?
The investment casting technique is very adaptable and can handle a wide range of intricate designs. It works well for prototype quantities up to 10,000+ components with tight net form tolerances, challenging cores and details, and/or relatively thin walls.
For pieces that are thicker, have less tolerance or detail requirements, and for exceptionally large production runs in aluminium, investment casting is less desirable but it can still produce these parts effectively.
Advantages of Investment Casting
Depending on the shape, size, and quantity of your product, the investment casting technique is appropriate for a variety of applications and, in certain situations, can be more cost-effective and yield better results than alternative casting or machining methods.

Considerations like size and dimensional tolerance are crucial when determining whether investment casting is the best option for your project. The size and shape of a part define the tolerance, which includes both linear and geometric factors like:
In terms of length
The quality of concentration
The roundness
To use parallelism
A perpendicular relationship
Lack of Flatness
· Straightness
The degree of angularity
